What is the difference between a mobile vet and a regular vet
The licence is the same. A mobile veterinarian is a licensed vet whose practice travels instead of sitting in a building, and in most states they are regulated by the same board that regulates the clinic down the road. What differs is the equipment they can carry, the appointment length, and where you are standing while it happens.
The practical line is anaesthesia. PetMD says most mobile veterinarians send anything requiring it — surgery, dental work — to an affiliated hospital or refer it out, and that hospitalisation is off the list. Everything short of that is largely the same medicine in a different room.
